Cardio Boxing

Cardio Boxing

Are you ready to get into the best shape of your life? Would you like to develop the skills and ripped body of a boxer? Check out cardio boxing, our new and exciting group fitness program designed to develop the athletic skills of boxing including speed and agility, cardiorespiratory endurance, along with strength and power. You’ll also learn and practice basic self-defense skills as you experience new levels of confidence, all while burning an amazing number of calories and fat.

This cardio oriented fitness class uses a combination of aerobic and anaerobic exercises performed in short training intervals called “rounds” to work your entire body. If you are familiar with the training terms “interval training” and High-Intensity Interval Training or HIIT, you will understand that boxers have been practicing interval training for well over a century.

Our cardio boxing classes begin with a warm-up followed by a healthy mix of training including:
Conditioning: Cardio Boxing will challenge your stamina and help improve your performance as you train for endurance. Heavy bag drills, rope jumps, calisthenics, shadow boxing and sparring with your Trainer and classmates, all designed to improve your endurance and conditioning and burn fat and calories. In less than ONE hour you will have worked your entire body and burned 700 to 900 calories!

Skills: Many of those exercises that improve conditioning also improve your technical boxing skills, shadow boxing, and the heavy bag develop punching, blocking and striking skills. Speed bags, sparring or working with target mitts improve your ability to “stick and move” to punch and avoid punches.

Boxing Strength: Boxers use resistance training and medicine balls to improve strength in order to punch hard and receive punches, while you won’t “come to blows” in bootcamp, the methods of training are effective. We’ll also use bodyweight exercises like pull-ups, push-ups, plyometric training as well as medicine balls.

Speed and Agility: Jumping rope and later speed rope drills, using the speed bag and the double end bag will help you develop fast hands, balance and a healthy heart. Footwork and agility are important to a boxer and box jumps (plyometrics), ladder drills and rope drills will help YOU develop those skills.

Cardio boxing will stimulate and strengthen all of your muscle groups, through the perfect balance of aerobic (with oxygen) and anaerobic (short-burst, without oxygen) exercises. You’ll be safely guided by our trained Boxing Instructors.

It will add variety and FUN to your workouts as you train with your group and pursue your fitness goals together as a team. If you have the desire and dedication, cardio boxing will help you get into the best shape of your life!
